Carey, a former top model in fashion who measured at nearly 5'10" she was a favorite of American fashion designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. In 1979 the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists named her father Scientist of the Year. Carey has lived throughout the world as a result his career. While she attended an institution called the University of Colorado, Carey began to model on the side. The Ford Model Agency located in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. She briefly spent time and studied in Paris before returning back to New York. Her modeling and college career took off and she was featured on Vogue's, Glamour's, as well as many other covers of magazines. She studied full-time in New York University, obtaining the degree in Literature, which she earned while working on modeling assignments. As time passed, she was drawn to acting and studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. In 1986 she began her career in acting with a minor character in "Club Paradise" in the film "Club Paradise" with Robin Williams. Her leisure time is spent in wind surfing, skiing and rock climbing. She also enjoys white water white water rafting.
