McKayla Rose Maroney retired from the sport of artistic gymnastics to become an acclaimed singer. She was a participant in 2012's Summer Olympics as part of the American Women's Gymnastics team, referred to by the name of Fierce Five. At the Olympics she earned the silver medal and also a team gold. Early life. McKayla Rose Maroney is the daughter of Erin Maroney and Mike Maroney. (died 2019.)
