Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is the daughter of a mixed-race family from South London in England. Her father is Nigerian and Swiss and her mother is English. Her family was raised on an estate in South London council estate and at the age of 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She studied acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. As a student at the academy, she appeared in numerous stage plays, including the King Henry V as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting career started with Storm Damage. Since then, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was co-starring Colin Farrell (who played the character of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. In the following film, she was the lead in Elisha on an episode of the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In her role, she also played Ollie in the six episodes from Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. The year 2008 saw her had the opportunity to play the part as Bambi in the ITV2 drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl and was featured in the three and two series. Madekwe was also a part of 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her stage credits include Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams and Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe officially made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes on The CW, and was eventually cancelled. In February, she was cast 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe's exit from the series was officially announced in May of 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she appeared as a guest in the first episode of season three. She starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem from 2014 until the year 2016. Her long-time friend, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. Together, they worked in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress, who was born into a big family. Her parents were Patty and Roy Leggat. Her parents, Roy and Patty and her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's brothers, who were all very active, took part in hockey during the winters and baseball in the summers, meaning they grew up mostly in parks and arenas. Ashley was never able to walk, but she danced. When she turned two-and-a-half she started Baby Ballet and fell in the love. Ashley was addicted to dance immediately. Ashley competed in top-level divisions of tap, jazz hip hop, ballet the lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe until she graduated in high school. She also won best soloist awards at all major dance contests, like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
